Keith Thomas Blayney, the third son was born on 7-10-53. After obtaining a University Scholarship, he went to Auckland Medical School and then trained for General Practice (mainly Internal Medicine and Obstetrics). He moved to rural Taranaki in 1980 where he practises as a GP in Hawera. He was accepted as a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of GPs in 1998.

He married Wendy Patricia Dixon on 15-2-75 and they had two children:

• Benjamin Keith Blayney born 20-9-79. He graduated with a BSc(computing) in 2001 with a grade A average and now works for Peace Software.

• Michael Johnathan Blayney born 9-12-81, He graduated with a MSc(2nd Class Honours) in chemistry and is working as a scientist.

Keith has also been divorced and remarried.
He married Shirley May Coxhead on 18-2-89 and they have one child,
